Against her better judgment, she decided to free Komand'r who was still absorbing energy. During the procedure, forces loyal to Komand'r attacked the Psion ship to rescue her, and while the Psions were distracted, Koriand'r broke free using her new ability of starbolts (destructive blasts of solar energy) acquired through the experimentation. Largely sadistic scientists, the Psions performed a deadly experiment on both sisters to see just how much energy their Tamaranian bodies could absorb before exploding from the overload. Koriand'r endured six years of torture and sexual abuse until she and Komand'r were both released to the Psions for experimentation. They used Komand'r's information to successfully invade Tamaran, and King Myand'r turned Koriand'r over to the Citadel to ensure peace. When both sisters were sent to train with the legendary Warlords of Okaara, the bitter Komand'r ran off, allying herself with the Citadel. Therefore, she was deemed unworthy to be queen and the succession fell to Koriand'r. Her older sister, Komand'r was the first in the line of succession, but she was crippled by a childhood illness that robbed her of her natural Tamaranian ability to convert ultraviolet light into flight energy. It also reminds me of how interesting she is when all three versions of her are united into one, making the super cool and surprisingly versatile character you covered in your previous blog.Koriand'r was the second of three children. Speaking of unique aspects, the section you had on their unique abilities was my favorite part along with your closing analysis. Really fun blog, you did a great job at covering the unique aspects of these three incarnations of this awesome character. Agreeing with you again, New 52's intellect advantage gives her a leg up in the three-way battle royale but Post Crisis is just too dangerous to not be the clear victor nine times out of ten (or more). I agree with you that Pre-Crisis would beat New 52 more often than not, though New 52 Star still stands a chance and could outwit her way into the occasional victory. Being the veteran of the three and getting SO many more opportunities feats seemed to stack things heavily in Post Crisis Starfire's favor, which made the comparison between the runner-ups all the more interesting.
Your reasoning at the end made a lot of sense. A lot of the time when I read one of your comparisons between the three when it came to a specific element, you pretty much took the words out of my mouth! Which is a rewarding feeling for a reader. Something that really struck me about this blog was how closely it lined up with my thought process. Jokes aside, I had a good feeling about Post Crisis Starfire and it seems like my intuition didn't steer me wrong. Now THIS is quite the treat! I've become quite fond of Starfire lately and that other blog you did on her was a major contributing factor.
